How Do I Get a Document Notarized in Arizona

In order to have a document Notarized in Arizona you must appear before a Notary Public being of sound mind and with an acceptable form of identification. A Notary Public's sole purpose is to inspect your identification and ensure that you are who you say you are, and that you are willing to sign the document. What are Accepteable Forms of ID For a Notarization in Arizona?

When having a document Notarized in Arizona you must have a unexpired United States, State issued ID Card, a United States Issued Driver's License, or a United States Passport, Tribal ID card or an Inmate ID card. You may also use a Military ID for Notarization Purposes but please note it is unlawful to make copies of a Military ID (Title18, US Code Part 1, Chapter 33, Secion 701) if the receiving party of your documents also need a copy of your ID with the Notarized document.

If you are not able to produce one of these acceptable forms of ID- do not worry! In the State of Arizona you may also use one Credible Witness, over the age of 18, who possesses one of these forms of ID, and who is willing to take an oath that you are who you say you are in the presence of the Notary.

Forgien Residents who do not have access to United States Identification and can not produce a Credible Witness may also produce the folllowing. A Forgien Passport accompanied by a Visa or other documents that establishes legal presence in the United States. Citizens of Mexico and Candada may utlize a US Consular Card.
